Im ready for snowboard season to start. Got about a month left before I can hit the snow. The countdown has begun.

Video Premier is TOMORROW NIGHT!!!

The premier of the second video from the ILLINI WAKEBOARD CLUB will be held in the back room of Joe's. For only $5 you get to witness the first public showing of "Meat 'N Cheese" and access to 2 kegs. Iif you come before 9 pm there is NO COVER. After 9 you will have to pay the standard $5 cover. The video will premier around 9:30-9:45, and we'll probably air it twice. So come out and have your mind blown by the spectacular gnar shredding of the IWC.

Wakeboard Season Has Started

IWC went as a whole crew to lake springfield this weekend to start our season as a whole.
Good times had by all, except K-Wats who broke his leg on his first hit! Gnarly
It was pretty cold and the DrySuit was excellent

some highlights from this year

As of this past saturday, my season of midwest snowboarding is over. Now i must wait till i go home on spring break friday to get my last week in. So here are some stills from video shots that we got this year and will be putting into the next IWC movie 'Meat n Cheese' which is comming out at some point this spring!! - sorry for the bad quality. cap'd from chads camera

- big drop by the stadium. not much speed. It was about 9 feet or so.


-Nighttime jump sesh. Having a generator and lights is AWESOME!

Fantastic Fridays

Spenny got this on film with his awesome camera and fisheye technology, so this photo is a little low quality. Now that im finally hitting the big jump, ive been tryin new kinds of grabs. I guess this is like a mute stiffy. Its just fun to grab, poke, THEN straighten legs. A cool feeling.

Hopefully ill grow some balls and spin this jump this friday night.

04 GNU Danny Kass - is now in retirement, but i love it and may use it on the occasional street feature from time to time. With crappy Burton Cartels that i STRONGLY dislike.

07 Nitro Misfit Eero Ettala 158.6 - my main stick. Use this all the time. Backcounty, park, trails, europe, america etc. etc. I love this board. Great pop and Love the feel.

08 Nitro Raiden Phantom Eero bindings. LOVE 'em

08 Nitro Eero 155 tails down. Just picked this board up for park purposes. Its a little smaller. I havent even ridden it yet. And the bindings are 05 Technine MFMs. Theyre my roomates which i plan on buying from him even though I havent ridden this board yet haha.

My girlfriend

Ok, so i wanted to make one of these blogs to like post a few pics and update whoever cares (mostly myself) with whats goin on with me and the rest of the IWC.

Well its winter now so im friggin super happy. Except all I do is sleep, eat, dream, drink and live snowboarding, except im stuck in the fucking FLAT midwest.

It snowed a decent amount on thursday night, so we went out an checked out the urban possibilities. I had seen this ledge (above) at first a few weeks ago and knew it was possible to hit. So I was just waiting for snow. FINALLY SNOW. we get out there at like 1130 at night and we tried pushing and pulling each other into it (central illinois isnt exactly hilly). That didnt work, so we had to get my wakeboard rope, tied it to the back of the truck and were towing into this hit. We would tow all around the unplowed parking lot and hit this ledge. It is right outside a dorm hall so we actually had a decent audience. A few hecklers, a few people taking pics and giving props, a few ass-hats etc.

So we hit this jib a few times, i got some good shots on camera for our upcoming video. Then we got kicked out so moved onto the next location. A place really south campus that I had seen a few weeks ago. I originally wanted to wallride it, but we couldnt get the speed. So instead, I did this pretty gnarly drop to flat, about 9 feet or so i guess. One of my buddies piled snow on the landing so i saved my knees, and i got speed by pulling on a shovel my roomate was holding. Again, we got a few good shots off this drop. The most I could do was fs 180 it, but i wanted to bs 1 SOO bad, but I didnt get to hit it again (maybe tomorrow). So that was thursday night.

Friday we left for our weekly friday night trek to the closest "mountain" (4 hours away), to get some decent, cheap, park riding in. Waxed my sexy ass board (as you can see in the pic above) and we headed off. It was crowded (o well) but still managed to get a few hits in. I wasnt riding too great, but managed to get a few decent tricks, none on camera tho, o well.

Tonight its off to party probably, then probably some urban riding tomorrow morning, then the superbowl!! (go pats!! mike vrabel is my homeboy!)
